All right...so after reading Daishi's comments on the Seri pics I posted last night, I figured two things are going wrong. First, I am too comfortable with doing these now at a speed that is "allowing" mistakes to be made. Second, I have not, to date, toyed with the rendering detail, which dramatically increases the picture detail and a cost of making a render seriously take 4-5 times longer to produce. In an effort to correct both mistakes, I alloted myself about 4 hours on this series and turned up the software rendering to it highest setting... And honestly...after looking at some of the ones I called my "personal best", I think these are probably these best looking pics I have done. The detail in these came out #$#@ing incredible. Sure, the image doesnt have the cool background (You have no idea how hard those images are to find and then make clean for use...!), but I really like how the black background makes the other colors stand out with the light setting I used. Yeah...I am proud of these...! Daishi did me good service with his comments and thus my efforts to improve...My thanks Brother. Let me know what ya'll think of these... Hunter

The images are getting better. The eyes are beautiful. So now I post my critique. After all, it's the only way an artist improves. Forehead fuzz? in top triangle. That damn anti-gravity smile line that has been appearing in a couple of your recent pics. Middle triangles. Perspective and angle on the choker, bottom triangle.

[glow=red,2,300]Wow Net, simply wow. these looking fanfuckingtastic(yes, my word =P ) Much much better then anything yet, I think you set a new high mark with these ones. Glad my comments could help you bro ;D Anyways, took some time going over these and except for the 3 minor things Tem pointed out, I couldn't find anything really wrong. Image 1 and 2 have to be my favs of the set though, great lighting, good angles, the black background does do a good job of setting off the colors. Sometimes simplicity is best and in this case it works great. My only suggestion for image 2 is I'm not sure if you can rotate these things 90degrees or not, but if you can i'd do that and back it up just a bit. Not much but maybe have atleast the torso showing. that way it would show off mom without overwhelming the pic with blackness. Image 3 is also very good bro. Not a fan of the down low angles myself, I prefer the level or up high ones, but again no problems cept tem's. Shadows and light play right where they should be. Image 4 is a great one again, only thing I did notice is the lace of her pants doesn't match up. yes people I looked there too. I know Net doesn't want it to seem like she's making easy access though lol For a moment i was questioning the lighting on her but judging by the angles I'm assuming it's right above her. At first it looked like it might be off to the side from the way it made her pants shine but her face was still shadowed which might have been wrong on that angle. But if I'm right Net that it's above her, then it plays right where it should. Good angle, love the lounging pose on her. Ok, image 5, again Tem's observations plus the lighting needs to be turned up some to about image 2's level. Black background does do a great job of bringing out the colors but only if the lighting matches their intensity. Low lighting with the black gives it a kinda eerie look to it. Aside form those it's a another good pic, just those few issues to address. Can't wait for more of them bro, keep'em coming![/glow]

Yeah Temmy...Two of the issues you bought up are beyond my ability to control. To fix those, I'd need the second "must-have" tool for this work: Photoshop. The way the hair and the choker were mapped, only photoshop and get the angle edited and the hair shades removed. The smile issues are VERY hard to fix as the detail on lips and teeth are so small in the rendering process that often what I see in the delvopment stage is not what comes out at the end...I am aware of the issue, but have sent questions to "people in the know" to see how I can make it stop.
As far as the lighting questions...what you guys dont seem to get is that the lighting is probably the hardest and most random element. I can be looking at a perfect lighted image, but then hit the "render" button and get something that looks like Hell. Getting an intentional lighting image to work is often a matter of luck and considering my intent on these was to have the figures lower torso "blend and fade" into the black background, I think they worked out great. Each image was done with a different light setting, and I rarely use the same lights twice, as even a small change in a pose or a viewing angle can screw up the light/dark image.
